Prospective Members

At Portland Golf Club we know why members join private golf clubs.  While many courses fixate on increased publicity, rounds played or televised championships, at PGC our very limited membership of 500 members ensures that the only thing we focus on is your golf and club experience.  With every other tee time open, our members can walk on the course without a tee time.  Portland Golf Club truly provides a traditional golf course experience and we are pleased to announce our new membership category.

Regular Membership affords our members full golf and club privileges for the member, his or her spouse and family.  A Regular Member is an equity owner in the club, with the greatest level of privileges. A Regular Member’s spouse and any of his or her dependent and unmarried children under 21 years of age and living at the member’s home may enjoy club privileges, subject to established rules, without paying additional entrance fees or dues.

Intermediate Membership category is for those between the ages of 22 and 39. It is a wonderful chance for a new golfer to play one of the most historic courses in the Northwest, a place for the up-and-coming business executive to bring clients for lunch and families to enjoy the pool during the summer. The Intermediate Membership is perfect for those who grew up at a private club and want to continue a golf and social community that will last a lifetime. This new category is a non-certificate holding membership. For $7,000 (non-legacy) or $5,000 (legacy) and reduced dues, an Intermediate member has the same privileges as a Regular member. When the Intermediate Member turns 40, they have the option to upgrade to Regular Membership. At the time of application to Regular Membership, the Regular Member entry fee will be determined by comparing the entry fee at the time the Intermediate Member was approved, to the entry fee existing at the time of the subject Member’s application for Regular Membership.  The lesser of the two entry fees shall apply. This new membership category is limited to only 30 Intermediate Members.

Social Membership has the same social privileges as a Regular Member, but with limited golf course usage.  There is no interest in the property or assets of the Club and members cannot hold office or vote. Social Membership is often the first step for a family that is not quite ready for unlimited golfing, but who wants to partake in the many other benefits of membership at PGC. The Social entrance fee is applicable to a Regular Membership at a later date.  Children of a Social Member are not entitled to golf with the exception of the Junior Golf program.  Membership in this category is limited to 100 members.
